Tomorrow, March 5th, Mercury stations retrograde until March 28th in the spiritual sign of Pisces, where it has resided since February 10th. Mercury, the planet closest to our sun, is also the fastest planet in our solar system, and thus rules thinking, communication, technology, and travel.
During the past few weeks, you may have focused on creative projects, deepened your spirituality, and worked through personal healing within your relationships. Just when you thought all the deep reflection and healing was over, Mercury decides to take another trip back through Pisces. Sorry folks! We’re not done yet. Mercury will station direct in Pisces on March 28th, but will remain in the sign until entering Aries on April 17th. That’s quite a long time to be in a sensitive and deeply spiritual sign like Pisces. This may well be a godsend, however, since the world as we know it is scheduled for some serious change when Uranus enters Taurus on March 6th, where it will remain until 2026.
So what can you expect during a Mercury Retrograde transit? Since this planet appears to grind to a halt and turn backwards in its orbit, we can expect travel delays, technology glitches, communication mishaps and oversights. It can also cause our minds to get a little foggy, so be sure to double-check all documents, save everything on your phone/computer you don’t want to lose, make sure your car gets a tune-up, prepare for travel hiccups, and be very careful in your communications with others as misunderstandings may abound. It is also wise during this time to avoid signing new contracts or starting new projects (if possible) because things may not go according to plan. On a positive note, this retrograde is a great time for deep reflection, re-evaluation, and working on creative projects. Make sure you are nurturing yourself and your relationships; now is a time for healing. Spend time in nature if possible, preferably around water. Take baths, go for a swim. Mercury in retrograde will make you hyper-sensitive, so honor your feelings, but perhaps wait a few weeks before making any major decisions until Mercury stations direct, when we will all be able to think more clearly again.
Tomorrow we have a New Moon in Pisces, the same day that Uranus, the rebel planet, enters Taurus, sign of security, finances, nature and agriculture. This is highly symbolic, as new moons are about beginnings, creation and manifestation. In the sign of Pisces, we will be asked to look at our habits of materialism, overindulgence, and our connection to the divine. Perfect timing, as Uranus entering Taurus will throw a little bit of chaos (or rather, a lot) into the mix. So consider these past, present, and upcoming weeks with Mercury in Pisces as an opportunity to prepare yourselves, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, for the changes about to come.
