Honoring Womb & Ancestors

How grateful I am for womb magick. Being raised Catholic in a patriarchal society, I was taught to believe that a woman's power lay in being innocent, nice, and sweet, being able to pleasure a man, but not be too sexual or otherwise be labeled a slut. I was raised to believe that I had to be neat, clean and sanitary with my menstrual blood, to take birth control pills, and to suffer through the cramps. Our historical, ancestral inheritance has taught us that strong women are b(w)itches, and need to be silenced, shamed, objectified, or burned.

No more will I allow this cultural shame to become my story.

I marvel at how my cycle links with the moon, and is always divinely timed with my life, so that I shed in alignment with external events, or powerful internal shifts. My cycle is always supporting my healing and my strength.

Today I use my womb magick to summon my ancestors---blood of my blood---to facilitate my journey and my strength, and to help release fears I've inherited from their shared trauma, so that they, too, may be healed.

I also add a drop of my cycle blood to the ritual oil I use to annoint my sacred objects.

The more I connect with the Sacred Feminine, the more magical life becomes.

I will not be ashamed anymore and I will not hide my magick, for the Divine Feminine lives in me, she birthed me---her daughter---to be a source of healing and balance for Earth and the cosmos.

How do you connect to your body’s magick? How do you celebrate the gifts your body gives you?
